this is theatre that tears up its own foundations.
If we had the opportunity to start from scratch, even in a space of 8 meters by 10 meters, how would we do it ?
Germinal features individuals who see the stage as an empty and fruitful space where everything is in the making. Within this space, efforts will be made to create a system or, in more candid terms, one might say: a world. As we watch it unfold, the actors take it as an opportunity to construct and deconstruct the history of sciences, technologies and societal structures in an experimental way, but always with the greatest care and good grace. Remaking everything, but without any moralistic intention.
In Germinal, we are indeed reinventing the wheel, but in doing so, we are questioning almost everything and putting it on trial, from the laws of physics to the foundations of social interaction. And this is done within the relatively narrow context of an empty performance stage.

"L'amicale" is not a company name, it's our production house. The project bears the name of its author : Halory Goerger and Antoine Defoort
Halory Goerger creates shows instead of building houses or repairing animals because it's better like that for everyone. He works on the history of ideas because that was the only topic left by the time he came along.
Born in 1978, he evolved from poetry to performance and visual arts. Theater has become a major habit with works such as &&&&& & &&&, Germinal, Corps Diplomatique or Il est trop tôt pour un titre. He co-curated France Distraction. He co-founded and co-directed Amicale from 2010 to 2016. Now he runs a new structure : Bravo Zoulou.
He tries to maintain a good atmosphere and a high level of porosity between his seasonal whims, life, as in real life, and contemporary art.
He therefore often finds himself struggling with blatant contradic- tions that are either proudly assumed or shamefully hidden through the use of mind numbing non-sequiturs and wild digressions.
Failures and accidents are welcomed with open arms and create a crispy granularity particularly appreciated by connoisseurs.
